SGCH SCOTCHBRIAR NIMUE'S EVENING 1*M, deceased age 13
Pictured above at 8 years old
Nimue is my all time favorite doe. She is extremely tall, long, level and elegant, with strong feet and legs and the widest, most level rump in the herd. Her mammary is very capacious and pretty with sound attachments. She is a also very strong producer. Sometimes that can make it a challenge to maintain her body condition during the show season, but when she does, she fully stands toe to toe with her paternal sister Joy, in the show ring! Barn milk records in her prime often peaked at 14-15#/day. We kept her on a long lactation in 2013 and maintained a production of 8-9#/day, bred at 12 months into the lactation. In 2017 we completed a DHI recorded lactation for the 1st time, and while not at her best due to an incredibly tough year, loosing her kids nearly a month early and a severe udder injury, she still earned her Superior Genetics award! We retired her from the show ring in 2018 after injuring a leg on the milkstand, but she remains vigorous and is still maintaining her place as the herd queen!
Her show wins include:
3x BDIS
16x BOB
18x Grand
3x Reserve
2016 6th place aged doe at the Harrisburg Nationals at 8 years of age, heat and travel had really taken a toll on her that week, but we were very proud of her placing in a very competitive class in which the top 3 does that day either had, prior, or that earned that day, a National Title.
Nimue peacefully passed away in her sleep in the summer of 2021 at the grand age of 13. We miss her deeply but are gratified to have her last buck kid from 2021 residing at Hops N Lops Farm, Scotchbriar Comedy Of Errors.

Merri will be missed, she lay down spring of 2020 at age 9 and didn't wake back up. She was a tremendous doe, Big bodied and and elegant, with a lovely, high udder and better teat delineation than her dam, Joy. Although she never really enjoyed the show ring, she made an impact there too.

Thea was one of my favorite does, we were devastated when we lost her a few days after kidding in 2019, it was way too soon. She was a gentle giant. A huge doe, but deceptively so, her pictures don't do her justice. Like most of the Romeo daughters she combined a beautiful general appearance with a beautifully shaped and well attached mammary.

GCH SCOTCHBRIAR WILD BLUE SOLACE 2*M, deceased
Losing Solace this spring of 2020 was devastating. Pictured above she was still gangly and awkward, but she was developing into one of the most beautiful young does, her udder was near perfect, and she easily finished her permanent Champion and was on her way towards a stellar show career. She did not have any doe kids but her 2020 buck kid Scotchbriar Last Endeavor is residing at Goats Ahoy.

Pippi was small but mighty, the smallest of a set of quads, she didn't know she was small and was just so correct overall. Sometimes overshadowed by her taller Romeo sisters, Joy & Nimue, she was still a force to be reckoned with.

Cecilia came to us Fall of 2021 from our good friends at Northern Sky, her bloodlines are ones that we know intimately, and we loved the udder that we saw on this young doe when she freshened as a 2yo in 2021, She is tall, deep and wide, with beautiful medial and a gorgeous foreudder, she placed at the top of her classes in her 1st year showing, Unfortunately she had abnormal kiddings 2022 and 2023 from CVV. We brought her out to the 2024 NYSDGBA and she won 2 of her legs there. We have retained her 2024 doeling, Gemma, and Cecilia has moved to our friends at Goats Ahoy. She was appraised but was nearly dry at the time of appraisal.

"Beauty", is one of our 1st Alex(son of Reserve National Champion, Joy x Chaos-son of 2012 National Champion, Wingwood Farm TAC Sasha) daughters to freshen and she is outstanding. She has a beautiful high, wide rear udder with lovely fore extension. She easily won her dry leg as a young doe. Unshown in 2020 due to the pandemic we feel she has a bright future ahead.
Beauty was let go of in 2021 related to some chronic udder issues from a precocious udder as a dry doe, we are happy to retain 2 lovely daughters of hers.

She has moved on to a new herd where they love her. We do regret not finishing her permanent Champion, she has 2 legs towards it and we feel that she would have easily finished. We also would have liked to have her reappraised while in condition as we do not feel her score reflects the quality of doe that she is. We did retain a buck of hers, Scotchbriar Wild Tidal Wave, and are hoping that he passes on her strong will to milk and her beautifully long and smooth foreudder.

Penelope freshened with a lovely udder, beautiful overall attachment with plumb, correct teat placement, she placed 1st in most of her 2yo classes as a FF in 2021. She is a product of a very successful line breeding, her year ahead full sister was the 2019 NYSF Jr. champion and 2021&2022 NY State Fair Sr. Champion.
Penelope also aborted and was dry in 2022 from CVV, She has developed into a massive doe, nearly as big as her dam, Prima Donna. I think everyone has had an exceptional animal that they have lost to tragic illness, unfortunately for us Penelope was one after a week long battle a few weeks from her due date due to Polio complicated with ketosis. |

We were so very happy to have Jubilee rejoin the herd in 2020! We sold her quite young and with the loss of two of our Joy daughters in 2020 we were very honored to be given the opportunity to bring her back into the herd. She has never been shown as a mature doe, nor has participated in LA. Jubilee looks so much like Joy, only black! She is a big bodied, correct doe with a well attached mammary, great feet and legs, and beautiful breed character. She has freshened in 2021 with 2 lovely doelings and lots of milk. She gave 13.9# on her first test in 2021!
Summer of 2021 brought some tough decisions about herd numbers, we decided to give Jubilee back to the home that so graciously let us bring her in, we have a beautiful kid and the hope of another come spring!
