Joy has been spectacular throughout her life, excelling in general appearance, and as one judge put it, " She's got the bling!". She won her Junior Leg and first of many BDIS as just a Junior Kid. As a 2yo first freshener she placed 3rd at the 2011 ADGA National Show in a class that included that years reserve National Champion. She is a very structurally correct doe with excellent feet and legs that she has maintained impressively through the years, a strong topline and the widest, highest rear udder in the herd. She also has a very level curve to her lactation, several times having been milked over 13 months. We even showed her with success on one of those long lactations. In 2013, she freshened with triplets for the 1st time and had a barn milk record peak of over 19#/day! In 2015 she thoroughly proved her productions capabilities by winning the ALL Breed High Point Milking competition at the New York State Fair with a 1 day milk test score of 25.6 points. Unfortunately she suffered a case of mastitis in 2017, the year we started DHI, and while she had an adequate lactation, she has not returned to her previous levels of production. As a show doe, she as been unsurpassed, standing up to the highest levels of competition, she has amassed multiple BDIS awards, 3 x NYSF BOB, and 2014 NYSF BDIS in a competition including a reigning Reserve National Champion Toggenberg! In 2016, in Harrisburg, PA, she won the 1st place aged doe class with 1st place udder, in class that included a previous Reserve National Champion and a 3 x National Champion Nubian Doe, she went on to become the 2016 ADGA Reserve National Champion with Reserve Best Udder! We took a long, hot trip out the 2018 Nationals in Ohio, not at her best following a difficult kidding that year she still placed an a very respectable 3rd place in highly competitive aged doe class. She has also been a powerful brood doe presence in the herd with permanent champion offspring such as SGCH Scotchbriar Wild Merriment and GCH Scotchbriar Wild Blue Solace, influential son Scotchbriar EC Wild Alex and more.
Newsflash, Joy has passed her 14th birthday, while enjoying a well earned retirement, she is strong and healthy and reigns still as Queen of the Herd!

Prima Donna, or "the Moose", has been an eye catcher from birth. She has continued to develop into a a HUGE doe and is simply breathtaking, Her pictures do not do her justice or reflect her massive size, she weighs in at #265! She has a very high, wide rear udder, with excellent lateral attachments, we would like a bit more foreudder extension, but it is strong, smooth and secure. She was a bit lazy in the milk pail in the beginning, but 2020 saw her freshen with quintuplets and she significantly improved her production and peaked at 12#/day. She has had limited showing and has 2 legs towards her permanent Champion.
Prima Donna continued her trend of "Always the bridesmaid" in 2021 with several Reserve Grand placings, several times to herdmates! She has become one of our most consistent and valued brood does, we have now had the pleasure of evaluating 3 daughters in milk and they all have phenomenal udders. Her 3yo daughter, CH(pending) Scotchbriar Violet Lilly's Luv was 2021 &2022 NYSF & NYSDGBA Senior Champion, as well as being the 2019 NYSF Jr. Champion! 3 daughters have also won their dry legs.
Prima Donna was retired early from showing due to a leg injury, she remains a valuable part of the herd as our top brood doe though.
We were blessed with a lovely set of twin doelings from Donna and Ranch for 2025. Donna did well through the pregnancy as an aged doe but post kidding we saw signs of the strain with her and she is now enjoying a well earned retirement.

We were very happy to bring Anna into the herd when the Northern Sky herd dispersed in the fall of 2022. We owned both her sire, Chaos, and dam,-Pecan who was a littermate to our Poppy, and also have her daughter, Cecilia in the herd. She is a large, dairy doe with a lovely udder. She has often been overshadowed by some very strong herdmates but has shown her strength in being the 2021 Res. NYSF Champion. She also placed 13th in the 5&6 milkers at the 2022 ADGA Nationals.
We were excited to complete her permanent championship and also to have her appraised EX90VEEE Anna displays the strength and longevity that we expect from our does and has an udder just as well attached now as she did as a young doe. She is a doe that excels in depth and width of body with a strong spring of rib and extension of briskets, she also has great width of rump with levelness from thurl to thurl. |

We were very pleased to have Violet rejoin our herd spring on 2023. Sold as a kid, she is one of the offspring that have proven her dam Prima Donna as one of our most valuable brood does. Violet was a standout show doe for the Northern Sky herd, winning nearly every time shown, including 2x NY State Fair Champion. She has an outstanding mammary to go along with her beautiful breed character, depth, width and elegance. Unfortunately we will not be bringing her into the show ring due to a stifle injury but look forward to her genetic contribution. We have been using her son Northern Sky Tidal Rendezvous in the herd for a couple of years now. She was dry when we obtained her, but we look forward to having her appraised in the future. We brought Violet out to 2 shows in 2025, she won BOB both rings at the ENYDC Classic. However at her 2cd show she placed behind other herdmates in the Champion Challenge class having aggravated a stifle injury that she sustained prior to coming back to us, we made the decision that she will be retired from the show ring with focus on being a stellar brood doe. We have had a well known National judge comment to us that she is one of his favorite Nubian does of all time. We are sad that she cannot continue her show career but so pleased by having her presence with use as a brood doe.

"Loulou", is a massive doe. She is fast approaching even Prima Donna in size at 230#, she is long, level and big bodied, and in her 2cd & 3rd freshenings she has really developed a beautiful mammary. As a very fat baby, she placed well, but lost places due to being "over conditioned". Now she receives commendation for her cleanliness!
We have been very happy with Loulou as she matures, she has continued to gain in body, dairyness, capacity and production. She is especially strong in medial with a very well supported udder floor. She had a great lactation even with us cutting it short and won 2 milking legs.
2022, Loulou freshened with sextuplets! She finished her permanent ( once ADGA catches up!)Championship. We brought her as our only milking doe to the 2022 ADGA Nationals where she placed 13th in a highly competitive 4yo class. We felt as her body condition was still a little lacking as a result of that incredible 6 kid freshening and were very satisfied with that result.
Lou had a rough kidding spring of 2024 with a sacral collapse suffered after dystocia, she has come a long way since, even appraising EX91VEEE that same summer.
Lou is a very strong milker, often peaking at 13-14#/day. The year of her injury we were unable to get her to dry off afterwards and she still produced at a steady 7-8# daily on once a day milking.
After holding her dry for 2 years, Loulou was thoroughly examined as breeding sound ( a backup emergency plan is in place if required) after making a wonderful recovery from her previous kidding injury, and we are excited to have her bred for March 2026 kids!
Lou is NOT photogenic, she is a doe that needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated for her tremendous size and capacity and spark of personality!

Eden is a very correct doe, she reminds me very much of the Romeo lines as in she is a slow maturing type of doe. She is similar type of doe to her dam, Nimue, who just gets better and better as she ages. She has a lovely udder with beautiful overall area of attachment and balance and near perfect teat placement. She also has our favorite rump in the herd, excelling in its length, width and levelness.
2022 she was one of many of our does affected by Cache Valley Virus. We really love the maturity that she has gained in that year off and was excited to finish her permanent championship for the 2023 show season!
Eden is not a large doe but a very balanced doe with a correctness that she passes to her kids, every season I find them to be amongst my favorite kids of the year. We have 2 daughters in the herd, Anara who freshened very prettily in 2025 and Vienna(dry leg) due to freshen in 2026.
Eden earned a LA score of VG88 VVVV, she has proven herself as one of our most reliable brood does.
2026 Kids will be DNA tested for sire verification, we did perform an AI breeding to Tide Land Playboy's Zane, however a follow up cover was provided to Ronnie as we as her cervix closed earlier than expected and it was only a splash AI.
Eden may not be quite as flashy as some of her herdmates but she has certaintely proven her worth through her offspring in the herd!

A shy girl, Modesty freshened with a lovely balanced udder, with beautiful attachments all around. She has nice width and depth for a young doe. We look forward to watching her mature. She has her dry leg and also had a reserve Grand in spring 2021 despite being in a very awkward stage, she also won a full milking leg at our last show of 2021!
Modesty also aborted and stood dry for the 2022 from the effects of CVV. She has developed a tremendous amount of body, depth and width both and w 2023 saw her complete her permanent championship and 2024 an appraisal of EX90VEEE!
Unfortunately Modesty has produced all bucks( other than the kids lost to CVV in 2022), they have all been beautiful and gone to stud homes. Modesty has persistently short cycled this season and sadly will stand open for the 2026 season.
Modesty is a doe that continues to impress even as she has moved into being an aged doe. We will hope for a doe kid and return to the show ring next season.

"Tilly" is a head turner, and she knows it, she has looks and personality rolled into one pretty package! She has her dry leg from a 2023 BJDIS win at ENYDGS. We were happy with a very respectable FF 84 LA score as she had a very strongly attached little udder but lacked maturity and development still. 2025 brought a 2cd freshening and wow, we saw such a change in the development of her medial and capacity.! Tilly finished her permanent championship as only a 3yo! She is an extremely elegant and well balanced doe combining her length with depth and overall correctness of structure.

CH (pending) SCOTCHBRIAR JUBILANT SONG VG86 FF SCORE
Although pictured here in an awkward stage, we are liking the development of this young doe. She is a result of a close linebreeding. She has her dry leg from her yearling showing and came in with a pretty and well attached udder. We did battle some unevenness in the udder but she showed very competitively, 1st's & 2cd's, throughout the season and even had a Reserve Grand at the 2024 ENYGS and so we chose to dry her off early. We were thrilled with her VG86 FF score.
2025 brought a complete return to her udder evenness, and she displays tremendous capacity and area of attachment in particular in extension of the fore. Song has completed her permanent championship as only a 3yo! Although we were not on test for 2025, she also showed herself to be an exceptional producer of 12-13#/day for barn records.

SCOTCHBRIAR CIELA ANARAAnara is a stunning young lady, she caught a lot of attention as a Jr doe with multiple jr. Reserve wins, unfortunately just falling short each time due to her 'easy keeper" status! We are really excited with how how our first Rendezvous daughter freshened, she has a lovely shape and area of attachment. She only had a single and it took her a bit to milk off some of her baby fat but by summer we were really proud of a Reserve Sr. Doe win behind herdmate Song at the S. Adirondack Classic Show. She is going to be a massive doe and under that tremendous body her bones are flat and open and has a fantastic set of feet and legs. We think crossing her with Luke will add to her elegance and the Rendezvous x Luke crosses are checking all our boxes!

Tansy is one of our most exciting young does. A June baby, she hasn't let the age disadvantage slow down her momentum. She won her dry leg in her only show as a Jr. and came back to win her 1st Reserve Sr. doe while technically still a yearling at the 2025 ENYGC Classic, and she picked up 2 more reserves against stiff competition and older does at the NYSDGBA and S. Adirondack Classic shows at well. In addition to her long, level and elegant profile she posses and absolutely stellar mammary. We can't wait for her to continue to gain the maturity and depth that come with more age!
2026 kids will be DNA typed for sire, we did attempt a really cool AI breeding to Wingwood Farm CM Atticus, however she came out of heat sooner than expected and we followed up to be safe with our AI buckling Scotchbriar Golden Pendragon.

Dhalia( yes, I realized I misspelled it immediately after submission!), is one of our closest line breedings between Prima Donna and her grandson, Rendezvous. Dhalia is long, tall and very elegant without sacrificing body capacity and the udders should be incomparable. She has been many times bridesmaid with multiple reserve Jr. wins. We are eagerly awaiting her first freshening this spring!
SCOTCHBRIAR VIENNA EVENING

Vienna won her dry leg at her 1st show as a kid and hasn't left the barn since! She is a very pretty and correctly young doe with lots of style and levelness, She also carries on the lovely long and wide rump pattern of her dam Eden and granddam Nimue. We are expecting a top notch udder from her pedigree!
